Breath Awareness
Awareness of breath is a valuable meditation and stress management technique. Because breathing involves a natural, cyclical movement, it both draws attention (as all change does) and tends to be forgotten (as all unchanging things do). Both these features make it valuable, since we do not only want our attention drawn (by the movement) but also want an effort on our part to be called for (to maintain and concentrate awareness).

Energy Healing Practices

Flower Essences
Flower essences are herbal infusions or decoctions, made from the flowering part of the plant, which uniquely address emotional and mental aspects of wellness. The first 38 flower remedies were formulated by a British physician, Dr. Edward Bach, in the 1930's, although new remedies from other plant species are now available.
The human being is more than a physical body, but also incorporates a "body" of life energy, a "body" of sensitivity and feelings, and a spiritual essence or Self. Flower essences are energetic imprints of the life force of plants which interact with these subtle bodies of the human being, and evoke specific qualities within us. We can say that they work in a similar way to inspirational music or art, which carry meaning through the vehicle of sound or light, while the flower essences work through the medium of water. Guided Imagery
Guided imagery is the use of relaxation and mental visualization to improve mood and/or physical well-being.
Guided imagery is simply the use of one's imagination to promote mental and physical health. It can be self-directed, where the individual puts himself into a relaxed state and creates his own images, or directed by others. When directed by others, an individual listens to a therapist, video, or audiotaped exercise that leads him through a relaxation and imagery exercise.
Guided imagery is a two-part process. The first component involves reaching a state of deep relaxation through breathing and muscle relaxation techniques. The second component of the exercise is the imagery, or visualization, itself. There are a number of different types of guided imagery techniques, limited only by the imagination. Some commonly used types include relaxation imagery to rest the mind and body, healing imagery to cope with disease or injury and the body mending itself, pain control imagery, and mental rehearsal which involves imagining a situation and its ideal outcome. Guided Meditation
A guided meditation is when your imagination is lead on a particular journey with the purpose of achieving healing and realizations through purposeful contemplation and reflection. You could have someone speak or read a guided meditation to you, listen to a professional on a CD or read your own onto a recorder and play it back to yourself. The idea is to let go of any thought you may have and allow your subconscious mind to follow the words that are spoken. Many people prefer guided meditation because even if you fall asleep you will still benefit from it subconsciously.
A simple guided meditation will help you to achieve deep relaxation and release negative emotions or beliefs that are preventing you from being further enlightened. When you enter into deep relaxation with such great deliberation you can touch on experiences and feelings that are usually hidden in unreachable parts of your mind. By allowing your conscious mind to sleep, experiences come forward to be acknowledged and released from your subconscious. This enables you to become more positive in your contemplation and reflection relating to past experiences you have had, and you can also replace negative programming with confidence and high self esteem.
